The International reGeneration 3 Exhibition comes to Museo Amparo

November 01, 2015

The ReGeneration 3 exhibition, project from the Musée de l'Elysée, Switzerland, came to the city of Puebla, which is known for its multidisciplinary approach to photographic language, so the next new generation of photographers in the world is defined , who show that there are no limits for the creation of images with artistic value.

Within the framework of the International Photo Mexico Festival, organized by Centro de la Imagen of the National Council for Culture and Arts, Tatyana Franck, director of the Musée de l'Elysée, said: "We are committed to the development of mid-career or emerging artists ".

In the facilities of Museo Amparo, Tatyana Franck considers that art can evolve and this exhibition is an example of this, since photography is beyond its traditional supports, presenting projections, photography in low relief, installations, objects and other art pieces, so she appreciated the facilities to achieve this presentation.

Also during the inauguration, she commented that the exhibition represents one of the first museums worldwide specialized in the study, preservation and promotion of the photographic material and whose collection has over one million objects.

On his behalf, Pascal Hufschmid, chief of Foreign Affairs of the European museum, said that the third edition of this project includes a series of exhibitions that go over the world after calling 424 art schools from all regions worldwide to submit works of its best students and proposals related to the photographic language.

ReGeneration 3 brings together the work of 40 young artists from 18 countries, including: Rachel Cox, United States; Emily Mancines, UK; Sinan Tuncay, Turkey; Lawrence Rosti, Switzerland; Artur Gutowski, Poland; Juno Calypso, United Kingdom; Giacomo Biancheti, Switzerland; Gia Squarcia, Italy; Paul Samuels, South Africa; Jennifer B. Thoresen, United States, and Nobukho Nqaba, South Africa.

The selection of participants is important, since the Musée de l'Elysée chooses the works without prior knowledge of the artists’s carreers, so the choice is completely subjective, with a vision for the future looking for innovative proposals.

"Photography lends much itself to the traveling and is associated with youth", said Pascal Hufschmid, so this place is a great opportunity to spread contemporary artists, "help artists to develop their career", so he estimated as a main objective of this exhibition to challenge the traditional notion of photography.

The exhibition is a network of efforts and opportunities for artists, the public and the European building, as this has established itself as an organization committed to promote different museum proposals, becoming a true platform where "win win" is present in all the actors involved and engaged with the project.

"I am convinced that the works have an impact by their content, because the works switch to dialogue with different cultures," he said.

This exhibition of the International Photo Mexico Festival is on display in three rooms of the Museo Amparo of Puebla. For more information, you can visit the site: www.fotomexicofestival.com.
